The scientific seminar “Women and mythology: from East to West...” was held
On the 27th of December the scientific seminar was held at the Institute of Folklore of ANAS. At the seminar Master’s Degree Education Manager, Professor Ebru Gozel gave a lecture on the topic “Women and mythology: from East to West...”. She mentioned that the Mythological Mother, known as an archetype among the ancient Turks, is a whole. Being and non-being are completed by her.
The speaker mentioned that women had historically played a major role in the creation of culture, in areas such as hunting, cave paintings, stamps, writing, belief (shamanism), art, agriculture, weaving, gastronomy and so on.
Then, the head of the department of Modern Folklore of the Institute of Folklore, Doctor of Philology, Professor Fuzuli Bayat made a speech and shared his thoughts on the topic. The lecture aroused the interest of the seminar participants, a wide exchange of views was held on the topic, questions were answered.
