The annual report of the Institute of Folklore for 2024 was heard
On December 9, a report meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS was held. The meeting was attended by a member of the Humanities of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, director of the Institute of Architecture and Art, corresponding member of ANAS, Doctor of Arts, Professor Ertegin Salamzade and Secretary of the Department of Humanities, Doctor of Philosophy Arzu Mammadkhanli, members of the Scientific Council and persons relevant to the issues on the agenda.
The deputy director of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS, associate professor Afag Ramazanova spoke about the research work carried out at the institute, informed about the events organized in 2024, the new publications published, including books and monographs.
Then Afag Ramazanova presented the institute’s annual report for 2024. She mentioned that the work assigned to the scientific institution was carried out in line with the decrees and orders of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the decisions and orders of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as the implementation of state programs.
It was noted that, in accordance with the relevant Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on measures to declare Shusha the “Cultural Capital of the Islamic World” for 2024, the III International Turkological Congress was held in Baku on the 2nd-4th of December of this year, jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, TIKA, the Institute of Folklore of ANAS, the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi, the Institute of Linguistics named after Nasimi, the Chankiri Karatekin University of Turkey and the Kokand State Pedagogical Institute named after Mukimi of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
This year the second book from the series “Shusha seen through folklore” by associate professor Afag Ramazanova has been prepared for publication.
Later, corresponding member of ANAS, Professor Ertegin Salamzade and Secretary of the Department of Humanitarian Sciences of ANAS, PhD. Arzu Mammadkhanli highly appreciated the report of the Institute of Folklore on the scientific-research and scientific-organizational activities for 2024.
In the report it was noted that in 2024 the Institute of Folklore conducted research on 4 problems, 9 topics, 68 works in the direction of “Sources, formation, patterns of development and relations of Azerbaijani folk art”. Fifty three works have been completed in the current year.
In general, during the year four books and monographs were published, including 36 abroad, 54 abroad and more than 300 articles.
Among the employees of the Institute, 1 person was awarded the degree of Doctor of Sciences, 2 people were awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy, 3 people received the title of Associate Professor.
Afag Ramazanova noted that in 2024, 1 International Conference, 1 International Congress, 4 scientific conferences of the national level, 5 scientific seminars, 1 scientific session, 1 round table, 3 commemorative events, 5 presentation ceremonies, 2 popular scientific events were organized by the Institute of Folklore.
It was noted that during 2024, the DOI index was received in the I, II and III issues of the journal “Dede Gorgud” and the number of the journal “Studies on oral folk literature of Azerbaijan”.
In the report it was also mentioned about the activities of the Institute’s employees in the direction of popularization of science and their indicators in scient metric bases. It was emphasized that 17 employees of the Institute are represented in the Scopus and Web of Science databases.
The report of the Institute on scientific research and scientific-organizational activities for 2024 was recognized as satisfactory and adopted unanimously.
