The lecture for doctoral students was at the Institute of Folklore of ANAS
On the 31st of October the lecture was delivered at the Institute of Folklore of ANAS within the framework of the events held in the direction of popularization of Science in the institutions of ANAS. The lecture was delivered by Doctor of Sciences in Philology, associate professor Oruj Aliyev. The lecture on the theme “Tradition of storytelling in fairy tales” spoke about the specifics of storytelling, compositional elements of these examples of folk art, plot types, traditional formulas that are part of fairy-tale poetics.
Fairy tales created since the ancient times of Azerbaijani folklore are the rich sources of information for studying mythological views, beliefs, traditions, historical and poetic expression of national self-consciousness and a set of cultural values belonging to the people.
The scientist mentioned: “Like other folklore genres, the fairy tale genre has its own distinctive features not only in each nation, but also in each region. This is due to the creative process, the tradition of storytelling. It is possible to say that in the repertoire of fairy tales of each region there are leading motifs and original plots”.
The lecture was met with interest by doctoral students, the extensive scientific discussion was held on the topic.
