The first volume of the book “Folklore of Azerbaijan and surrounding countries” has been published
The first volume of the book “Folklore of Azerbaijan and surrounding countries” prepared by the senior researcher Akifa Khalilova of the department of Ceremonial folklore of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS has been published.
The collection contains folklore samples collected from Azerbaijan and adjacent territories in the late XIX and early XX centuries. This book, in which samples were returned from Russian to Azerbaijani, that is, to the original, is the first volume of archived materials in the form of three volumes at that time. It should be noted that all the texts in the first volume belong to Azerbaijani folklore. In other volumes geography covers the territories adjacent to Azerbaijan, as well as the close countries. The folklore of various ethnic groups living in the area where folklore samples were not ignored, it was collected, translated and included in the relevant volumes.
The editor of the book is Doctor of Sciences in Philology Agaverdi Khalilov and reviewer is PhD Atesh Ahmadli.
The book, consisting of 260 pages, was published in the publishing house “Fuyuzat”.
