A well-known journalist visited the Institute of Folklore

On the 4th of September a well-known journalist, a winner of the medal “Progress” of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as the “Golden Pen” national award in the field of journalism of Uzbekistan, currently a special correspondent of the newspaper “People” for Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Pakistan, Gulu Kangarli, was a guest of the Institute of Folklore ANAS.

Deputy director of the Institute of Folklore, PhD, Associate Professor Afag Ramazanova welcomed the guest and gave detailed information about the activities and development prospects of the Institute.

At the meeting PhD, Associate Professor Elchin Abbasov, head of the international relations department Ali Shamil, Afag Mustafayeva, PhD., Associate Professor Aynur Ibrahimova and a group of colleagues participated and interesting ideas were exchanged on the cultural heritage of the Turkic peoples.

Gulu Kangarli donated his book “Past goes back to history when it is not forgotten” to the library of the Institute of Folklore, published in the “Renaissance press” publishing house in Tashkent in Azerbaijani and Uzbek languages, which tells about the life of well-known Azerbaijanis living in Central Asia.

At the end the guest was presented with books, scientific journals, discs published at the Institute and photos were taken.
