The book “Great Turkmens and the Oghuzname period of the history of Turkish epic creation” by the head of the department of Folklore of Turkic peoples of the Folklore Institute of ANAS, Professor Afzaleddin Asker has been published. In this monographic study the progress (dynamics) of Oghuzname creativity is studied from the beginning to the end and the connection of the important events in the history of this epic creative event with ethnic processes and historical events is investigated. In the monographic book Oghuzname oratory, performance and poetic form, as well as the characteristics of Oghuzname texts are also investigated. This book presented to the readers was published in 2013 under the name “Oghuzname creativity”. Taking into account the interest of the scientific audience, the book was published for the second time. However, this edition is not a repeat of the previous one. The author has been working on the book since 2013, making corrections and clarifications. About 70 pages have been added to the book. The change in the name of the book is not accidental. This name expresses the essence of the conducted research fully. The scientific editor of the book published by “Sabah” publishing house is academician Mukhtar Kazımoglu-Imanov. We hope that the book intended for the scientific audience will help the development of the scientific opinion of Azerbaijan.
