Turkish and Kirkuk scientists were guests of the Institute of Folklore

On the 17th of April in 2024 the scientists from Turkey and Kirkuk were guests at the Institute of Folklore ANAS.  At the meeting the chairman of the Board of the World Speech Academy operating in Turkey, Professor Hayrettin Ivgin, the chairman of the Turkmen Culture Center of the Ministry of Culture of Iraq Dr. Sabah Abdullah Kirkuklu, chairman of the Iraq-Azerbaijan Friendship Society Dr. Mutaz Abdulhamid and the editor-in-chief of the journal “Shafaq”, poet Kardash Alishoglu participated. Director of the Institute of Folklore, Academician Mukhtar Kazımoglu-Imanov warmly welcomed the guests and explained the activities of the institute, development prospects and gave information in details. At the meeting based on mutual exchange of views, an interesting conversation was held about the current problems of modern science.

The issues of expanding literary and cultural relations with both Turkey and Iraq, organizing activities in the direction of studying Iraqi-Turkmen folklore and mutual cooperation were discussed. At the meeting, head of the department of Classical folklore of the Institute of Folklore, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor Rza Khalilov, head of the department of International relations Ali Shamil, PhD, associate professor Sakina Gaibaliyeva and PhD Gulnar Osmanova also participated.

At the end, the guests were presented with books, scientific journals, CDs published in the Institute and commemorative photos were taken.
