The employee of the Institute of Folklore made a report at the scientific conference on the theme “Women and Girls in Scientific Leadership – a new era of sustainable development”

On the 9th of February the event dedicated to the 11th of February -International Day of Women and Girls In Science was held jointly organized by the Presidium of ANAS and the Women’s Council of ANAS.

Opening the scientific conference on the theme “Women and Girls in Scientific Leadership – a new era of sustainable development, vice-president of ANAS, academician Irada Huseynova delivered greetings and congratulations to the participants of the event by academician Isa Habibbayli, President of ANAS. Noting that this significant day was held in accordance with the resolution adopted by the UN General Assembly in 2015 on December 22, the academician mentioned that this year’s International Day of Women and Girls in Science in Azerbaijan will be remembered for a very important event.  

Chairman of the Women’s Council of ANAS, head of the Department of the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of ANAS, Professor Rena Mirzazade said that our women scientists took an active part in the presidential elections and in the socio-political life of our country as a whole.

Then the scientific reports were heard. Chairman of the Women’s Organization of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS, PhD in Philology, associate professor Aynur Ibrahimova made a report on the theme “The role of women scientists in Azerbaijani folklore”. She spoke about Aziza Jafarzade’s life and activity, a prominent writer, a well-known literary critic, the directions of her folklore studies, the activities of female researchers working at the Institute of Folklore, the collection, archiving, publication, research of intangible cultural heritage, as well as the expansion of international relations, scientific organization and the achievements in the fields.
