The employee of the Institute of Folklore took part in the event on the theme “200th anniversary of Ashug Alasgar and the place of ashug music and literature in Azerbaijani culture”
On the 18th of April a literary event on the theme “200th anniversary of Ashug Alasgar and the place of ashug music and literature in Azerbaijani culture” was held with the organizational support of the modern Azerbaijan Association of the Republic of Turkey (Izmir). Opening the meeting in an online format Jamal Mehmethanoglu shared his views about Ashug Alasgar’s personality and activity with the participants. Then, speeches about the theme were heard at the event broadcast live from the YouTube channel of the association. Chairman of the Dutch House of Azerbaijan Elkhan Mirhashimli, poet from Turkey, Professor Mammad Ismail, Parviz Altay, Dijle University Faculty of Literature department of Turkish Dialects associate professor Naila Asker, Ismayil Ulker from University Of Urmia, associate professor Nazim Muradov from The European University Of Cyprus Lefke, poet Masud Haray from Southern Azerbaijan, Togrul Keskin from Turkey, Leila Nizamaddin, Chairman of Borchali Society Zelimkhan Mammadli, Department of the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi of ANAS, professor Almaz Ulvi Bunyadzade, leading researcher of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS, PhD, associate professor Ilhama Gasabova, deputy chairman of the Women’s Council of the Western Azerbaijani community, PhD, associate professor Rahila Abdullayeva and others took part.
Leading researcher of the Institute of folklore of ANAS, PhD, associate professor Gasabova Ilhama made a report on the “Master works in Ashug Alasgar’s activity”. The performances by Parvana Zangazurlu, Ashug Nargila, Ashug Bakhshali, Asim Pirimov, Ashug Ogtay and Khayat Zamani were also met interestingly.
