The employee of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS
took part in the memorial event “Ashug Alasgar-200”

On the 11th of April the memorial event “Ashug Alasgar-200” was held in online format with the organization of Azerbaijan Refugee Society and Western Azerbaijan Community. Opening the event chairman of the Azerbaijan Refugee Society and the Western Azerbaijani community, deputy Aziz Alakbarli spoke about Ashug Alasgar. He thanked President Ilham Aliyev on behalf of the participants for signing an order on the 200th anniversary of Ashug Alasgar and noted that it was a very good impression that this anniversary coincided with the victory after the 44-Day Patriotic War. Then, a video clip from Ashug Alasgar’s 150th anniversary was presented. Leading researcher of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS, PhD in Philology, associate professor Ilhama Gasimova participated in the memorial event and spoke on the theme “Comparative typology of tejnis in Ashug Alasgar’s activity”. The event was attended by Ashug Alasgar fans, deputy Malahat Ibrahimgizi, Ashug Alasgar’s grandson Khatai Alasgarli, Nagif Hamzayev, Gurban Hasanov, Avtandil Agbaba, Shakir Muradov, Telli Panahgizi, Ashug Nemat Gasimli, Fakhri Jafarov, Azada Novruzova, Rahila Abdullayeva, Leila Abdullayeva, Naghdali Zamanov, Shakir Muradov, as well as Nizamaddin Onk from Germany, Murtuza Karachanta from Turkey, Jamal Mehmethanoglu, Darya Akdemir joined and shared interesting ideas. The performance of Ashug Nemat Gasimli was also greeted by the participants with interest.
