A new book from the Institute of Folklore
In spite of the difficulties of the pandemic period the Institute of Folklore of ANAS continues its activity in the field of collecting and publishing Azerbaijani folklore. The second volume of the book “Folklore samples of Tovuz region” is one of the next steps taken in this direction. The first collection of Tovuz folklore was published by the Institute in 2017. That book includes tales and anecdotes collected from the region. The next book includes other genres collected from the region – legends, rumors, bayati (quatrains), children's poems, proverbs, ashug legends, as well as fairy tales and anecdotes. The book contains interesting facts and legends about prophets and religious figures, about tribes and place names.
In this book, intended for scientific audience, folklore samples were published with the expectation of dialect features of the region. The head of the project is the director of the Institute of Folklore , academician Mukhtar Kazimoglu-Imanov. The collectors of folklore samples are PhD Ilkin Rustamzade and Sayyara Gasimova. |
