WOMEN’S COUNCIL OF THE INSTITUTE OF FOLKLORE HELD A MEETING WITH ZEMFIRA MAHARRAMLI
On the 19th of February 2020 the Women’s Council of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS held a meeting with Zemfira Maharramli from the series “Let’s get to know our hero ladies”. Opening the event the Chairman of the Women’s Council of the Institute Ph.D Maleyka Mammadova described this meeting as a sign of loyalty to every lady who died and showed heroism for the motherland. She called the representatives of the elegant gender who were in the war, in the fire, acted as a warrior, as a medical nurse, as well as witnessed these events as a journalist. After the speech of the chairman of the council, the spirit of all the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the motherland was remembered with a minute of silence, followed by a 7-8 minute documentary about the ladies who fought heroically in the Garabag War. After the film the chairman of the council presented the collection of documentary stories “Garabagh war: elegant destinies” by Zemfira Maharramli.
Writer-journalist Z.Maharramli spoke about her participation in the Garabag War and considered it important to instill in people the theme of the promise from an early age. It was noted that the book contains information about 102 fighters and 62 of them were women. The author also spoke about the publication of the books in Russian, English and Turkish languages in various countries and the difficulties in this field.
Aida Shirinova, who was the deputy commander battalion in the history of our national army, remembered the fiery days of the war, spoke to youth spirit, courage and invincibility. Then the members of the Women’s Council of the Institute of Folklore – Sevinj Huseynova, Vusala Orujova, PhD, associate professor Ilhama Gasabova, PhD, associate professor Sonmez Abbasli, scientist-poet, Giymat Maharramli made the speech on the theme of Garabagh war in modern literature, as well as being a great necessity for screen works.
Finally, the writer-journalist Zemfira Maharramli again thanked the participants of the meeting, as well as the director of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS, academician Mukhtar Kazimoglu for the organization of this meeting. At the meeting held at the Central Scientific Library of ANAS, along with the hero ladies of Azerbaijan, employees of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS, members of the Women’s Council of the Institute, as well as guests from other institutes of ANAS took part. At the end memorial photos were taken with hero ladies.
