The presentation of the book “Azerbaijani music with oral tradition” (volumes 1 and 2) was celebrated at the International Mugham Center
On the 16 th of January 2020 at the International Mugham Center was presented the book “Azerbaijani music with oral tradition” (volumes 1 and 2) by the Institute of Folklore of ANAS. Opening the event, director of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS, academician Mukhtar Kazimoglu-Imanov spoke about the importance of the book.
M.Imanov mentioned in his speech that the first volume of the book “Azerbaijani music with oral tradition” is called “Tasnifs and songs” and the second volume is called “Dances”: “The Institute of Folklore has close relations with the Ministry of Culture and Union of Ashugs. I would also like to emphasize our close relations with the International Mugham Center in recent years. Together with the International Mugham Center we have regularly held a number of series of events to further strengthen these ties. We feel happy about it. On my own behalf and on behalf of the staff of the Institute of Folklore, I express my gratitude to the director of the International Mugham Center, People's artist Murad Huseynov, who played a solid role in these relations”.
Mukhtar Imanov emphasized the great role of some persons such as Doctor of Arts and Sciences Naila Rahimbayli, the teacher of the Music College named after A.Zeynalli, the tar player Mehman Mikayilov, Honored art worker, Doctor of Arts, professor Tariyel Mammadov. Academician Mukhtar Imanov said that the publication of such books was of great importance for future generations.
At the event Honored Artist Nuriyya Huseynova, laureate of Mugham contest Khayala Gafarzade, Sabir Abdullayev, Honored artist Roza Ibishova, People's artist Gulyanag Mammadova, People's artist Gulyaz Mammadova and Murad Kerimzade performed different songs.
At the presentation ceremony some dances such as “Alchagulu”, “Chamani”, “Makhmeri” and the folk dance “Zangilan” were performed by the students of Baku Choir Academy.
