On the 2nd of December Head of Culture and Art Association of Kars province Vedat Akchayoz and his wife Gul Akchayoz, as well as Azerbaijani professor and musician Rafig Imrani working in Kars visited the Institute of Folklore of ANAS.
Giving information about the purpose of their visit to Azerbaijan, the guests noted that the ancient Ani Temple in Kars carried the secrets of a number of religions. Although it is a monument of Christianity externally, in fact, it is closely connected with fire-worship. Armenians and Georgians consider this monument to be their own. Vedat Akchayoz carrying out the extensive research for 20 years reveals that this temple belongs to the Turks. In this regard the folklore samples were collected from the people. PhD, associate professor Sonmaz Abbasli and PhD Tajir Gurbanov have been closely participated in the current issue. Vedat Akchayoz mentioned that he would visit a number of historical places in Azerbaijan, as well as to determine the scientific staff of Azerbaijani scientists to explore the Ani Temple in Kars.
At the end the director of the Institute of Folklore, academician Mukhtar Kazimoglu presented the souvenir to the guests on behalf of the Institute.
