Meeting at the Institute of Folklore

On the 17th of October the famous Crimea-Tatar turkologist Zera Bakirova visited the Institute of Folklore. She is the general editor of the journal “Nenkajan”. In 1957 she had collected and investigated folklore materials published in the newspaper “Lenin’s flag”. It is necessary to note that that newspapaer was published during 1957-1991 years.
Director of the Institute, the academician Mukhtar Kazimoglu-Imanov gave information about the Institute. In the meeting some problems such as Azerbaijan-Crimea literary relations, investigation of folklore materials of Tatars, Karaims, Crimeachaks, Urums, propaganda and introducing of Azerbaijan folklore in the Crimea have been discussed. The head of the department “Ethnic minorities” Ph.D., associate professor Afag Khurramgizi and the head of the department “Foreign relations”Ali Shamil also took part in the meeting.
