Representatives of the Institute of Folklore took part at the International Symposium in Gars

On the 24th-25th of September the symposium and ashug holiday “Turkic World Ashug Art” was held in the city of Gars in Turkey. The symposium was opened by the leader of World Garapapag Turks Unity Seyfullah Turksoy. The performances by ashugs from Azerbaijan, Iran and Georgia were listened interestingly.

Then in the official part of the symposium the reports were listened. The representatives of the Institute of Folklore Ph.D., associate professor Sonmaz Abbasli (“The paremiological units in Garapapag folklore”), Ph.D. Tajir Gurbanov (“Childirli Ali”) made reports. Ashugs and singers, different dance groups from Azerbaijan, Iran, Kirgizstan, Kazakhstan and other regions of Turkey also took part at the symposium. The leader of the folklore ensemble “Irs” Nuriyya Huseynova took part with the song “Stand up, Azerbaijan!”. Ashug Solmaz Kosayeva’s performance was also greeted with great pleasure.
