Our colleagues took part in the international symposium on the theme “Family in folk culture”

On the 25th-27th of March, 2016 the international symposium on the theme “Family in folk culture” was held in the city Edirne of Turkey. The symposium was formed together with Culture and Tourism Ministry of Turkey Republic, Trakya University and the Foundation Motif. The symposium was dedicated to the memory of the Turkish folklorist, professor Erman Artu.
The themes by the colleagues of the Institute of Folklore such as “The marriage forms in Turkic eposes” by Ph.D. Agaverdi Khalil, “The family mutual relations in Azerbaijan” by Ph.D. Galib Sayilov, “Beliefs of Azerbaijan-Turk family” by Aynur Jalilova, “The family conception in Azerbaijan and English proverbs” were included into the program of the symposium.
The symposium meetings more than 100 reports were listened. In the reports the family culture in Turkic nations were investigated in different directions. The reports were also published in the journal “Family in folk culture”.
After the symposium the guests were taken to the interesting places and historical monuments of Edirne city.
