Elchin Galiboglu made a report in the UNESCO Kirshehir International Music Conference in Turkey
On the 17th of May 17, leading scientific worker of the Institute of Folklore of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, PhD in philology Elchin Galiboglu took part online at UNESCO Kirshehir International Music Conference held in Turkey. It was noted in the report that all the possibilities of these instruments were revealed in the work of the master of the modern Azerbaijan “zurna-balaban” school, the famous artist Kalvali Ali Dada (1874-1960). There are two main aspects in his work – the magnificent wariness and the expression of cry. The famous melodies are followings: “Azerbaijani dance”, “Heyvagulu”, “Alcagulu”, “Koroglu naghara”, “Gahramani”, “Innabi”, “Mountain flower”, “Agirlama”, “Shirvan geraylisi”, “Afruz”, “Yasamani”, “Wedding dance”, “Salvari”, “Turshengi”, “Kalvali”, “Khirdaca”, “Meadow”... He created more than 70 melodies and now these songs adorn Azerbaijani weddings. Each of the master’s compositions is differed in its originality.
In the article the quality of the craft of Kalvali Ali Dede’s melodies is investigated. In conclusion, it was mentioned that Kalvali Ali Dede’s compositions can be considered mature self-expression in “zurna-balaban” art of the Turkic World with the language of music. This unique heritage needs to be studied, investigated, assimilated and, in other words, immortalized not only in Azerbaijan, but all over the Turkic world. The fact that such spiritual heritage of antiquity is a great opportunity for us to be invincible in all spheres of our life in future.
