The memory of 20 January martyrs was commemorated at the Institute of Folklore

On the 19th of January in 2022 the event dedicated to the memory of the martyrs of January 20 was held at the Institute of Folklore ANAS. The event was opened by the General Director of the Institute, academician Mukhtar Kazimoglu-Imanov. First, the memory of 20 January was commemorated with a minute of silence. The academician said that in 1987-1988, Armenia began to put pressure on Azerbaijan and our compatriots were expelled brutally from there. Touching upon the bloody days of January, M. Kazimoglu-Imanov noted that the perpetration of this tragedy was an attempt to break the will of the Azerbaijani people. After the academician’s speech the documentary film about the January 20 tragedy made by the Folklore Studio was shown. Then Professor Seyfaddin Rzasoy maid speech about the history of that day. He added that our people did not get their freedom easily, they fought for it. PhD, associate professor Ilhama Gasabova also made speech about the martyrs of 20 January. PhD, associate professor Shakir Albaliyev noted that the events of 20 January are the clash of the Azerbaijani people, who want to get rid of the yoke of slavery and the armed empire, which does not want to free us from this yoke.
