Scientific conference on the theme “Zangazur folklore: scientific researches and perspectives” was held at the Institute of Folklore
On the 30th of December, 2021 the scientific conference on the theme “Zangazur folklore: scientific researches and perspectives” was held at the Institute of Folklore ANAS. The scientific conference was started by the General Director of the Institute, academician Muxtar Kazimoglu-Imanov. He mentioned that in the historical stage after the 44-day Patriotic War, which ended with a glorious victory, new horizons were opened before the folklorists and their responsibility in the field of compilation, publication and scientific research increased. Academician M.Kazimoglu-Imanov said that the liberation of our lands from occupation by the valiant army under the leadership of Supreme Commander-In-Chief Ilham Aliyev, ensuring our territorial integrity, establishment of Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur economic regions by the order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, announcement of the Great Return Program to Karabakh, opening the Fuzuli airport and other great creative work, along with all other socio-political, national and cultural sides, is of special historical importance in terms of gradual restoration of lost folklore environments.
The first reporter Doctor of Sciences Afzaladdin Asgar made a report on the theme “The last gizilbashs: Sobu village”. Associate professor Sarkhan Khaveri made a speech on the theme “Structure and functional semantics of the game “Banovsha” based on folklore materials of Karabakh and Zangezur”.
PhD, associate professor Hikmat Guliyev made a report on the theme “Folklore semantics of seyidism in Zangezur folklore: sacral symbolization in the context of the Old Wise archetype”.
PhD, associate professor Safa Garayev made a report on the theme “Symbolic semantics of ritual elements in the wedding ceremony (based on Karabakh and Zangezur materials)”.
