Round table on the theme “Azerbaijan folk games” was held
On the 4th of October together with the Scientific-Methodological and Qualification Center of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Institute of Folklore of ANAS carried out an online event on “Azerbaijan folk games”. Opening the event director of the Scientific-Methodological and Qualification Center for Culture Saadat Khalafbayli drew attention to the urgency and importance of the theme discussed at the round table. He said that protecting, promoting and popularizing folk games had become a necessity in the process of rapid change of social life and globalization. S.Khalafbayli also expressed the great need to benefit from the support of the Institute of Folklore in connection with the festivity to be held in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
Director of the Institute of Folklore, academician Mukhtar Kazimoglu-Imanov said that the Institute had the Folklore studio and employees of this studio had prepared numerous materials reflecting folk traditions in different regions. The scientist mentioned the need to use the services of the studio in connection with the materials needed at the festival and said that the Institute of Folklore was always ready to support and work together on issues of common interest. During his speech the academician brought to the attention that the collection and study of games peculiar to the Karabakh region was very active and talked about the activity in this direction.
