The Women’s Organization of the Folklore Institute held an event on “The role of Azerbaijani women in the Great Patriotic War”

On the 25th of June with the initiative of the Women’s Organization of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS an online event on “The role of Azerbaijani women in the Patriotic War” dedicated to the day of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan was held. Firstly, a video was shown on the occasion of the Day of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan on June 26. Then the chairman of the Women’s Organization of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS, PhD., associate professor Maleyka Mammadova made a report on the theme “June 26 - the Day of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan: the role of Azerbaijani women in the Great Patriotic War”. M.Mammadova mentioned that according to the order of President Heydar Aliyev dated May 22, 1998, the day of establishment of the Special Azerbaijani Corps - June 26 - was declared the Day of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan and this date is celebrated annually as an official state holiday. Veteran of the Second Karabakh War Samid Khudadli, who attended the event as a guest, spoke about his battle path, his comrades-in-arms and their heroism.
Afag Mustafayeva, a member of the bureau of the Women’s Organization of the Folklore Institute, made a report on the theme “Mother of the Invincible Azerbaijani Soldier”. Then Nigar Imamaliyeva, an employee of the Folklore Institute, a member of the bureau of the Women’s Organization, made a report on the theme “Modern Azerbaijani army today”. Sevinj Huseynova, a member of the bureau of the Women’s Organization of the Institute, made a report on the theme “There is a woman behind every son who wins”. In her speech she drew attention to the selflessness of mothers and sisters during the war.
At the end Vusala Karimova, a member of the organization’s bureau, spoke on “Patriotic War - the history of victory of our glorious army”. She mentioned that the victory in the Second Karabakh War was a logical result of the great and glorious struggle of the Azerbaijani people, the Azerbaijani state and the Azerbaijani government.
